Alan Terrill This has a certain retro sound that recalls bands like Samla Mannas Manna and Hatfield and the North, but it has a great energy about it that reminds me more of Klotet. That said the compositions are great and don't owe anyhting to former bands and although largely instruemntal, the vocals don't spoil it, and add a certain extra something to the mix. Excellent album.

TheEliteExtremophile The first album from Actionfredag is an energetic, distinctly Scandinavian record. It combines a lot of threads present in the modern Scandinavian prog scene–jazz flavors, native folk influences, subtle nods to classic prog–into a coherent whole.

Fra bakerste dør på 37-bussen og i en os av engelsk frokostte kommer Actionfredags debutalbum, «Turist i eget liv». Plata slippes på Hærverk Industrier den 16. juni, og er et durstemt og hyperaktivt progepos, eller bare fem forvokste gutters musikalske leting etter barndommens lekeplasser på Oslos østkant, med pappas Canterbury-samling som ledestjerne. Actionfredag vil helst bli lablet hippiecore eller jazzgore, og går under mottoet «heller over evne enn under idrettsstevne».

Actionfredag er Ivar Haugaløkken Stangeby (Mt. Melodie, Tusmørke) på keys, Aksel Valheim Lem på gitar, Katrina Lenore Sjøberg (Lupa, Omhu) på vokal, Martin Hella Thørnquist på gitar og vokal, Espen Fladmoe Wolmer (Live Aids, Norsk Råkk) på trommer og Ola Mile Bruland (Jordsjø, Glutton) på bass.

Albumet inneholder bidrag av Åsa Ree (Åsa, Meer) på fiolin, Mari Mile Bruland på klarinett, Steinar Børve (Panzerpappa) på saksofon, Kristian Frøland (Jordsjø) på klokkespill, Aleksandra Morozova (Chronicles of Father Robin, Mt. Melodie) på vokal, Håkon Oftung (Jordsjø) på fløyte, Julia Wiedlocha på harpe og Liv Santos Holm (Maria Orieta band og Lupa) på melodica.

«Turist i eget liv» ble spilt inn på Bjørnerød gård i Våler av Kristian Frøland i 2020 og på Metronomicon Audio av Thomas Meidell. Albumet er mikset av Aleksander Sjølie og mastret av Kjetil Bergseth. Omslaget er tegnet av Emil Johnson Ellefsen.
